WHO WE ARE, AND WHAT WE DO

North Simcoe Waterjet was formed to meet the diverse demands of the large variety of industries present in Ontario.  From aerospace and mining, to stone, tile, glass, toolmaking and sheet metal fabrication‚Ķ a large variety of companies depend on CNC Waterjet technology to accurately cut their parts.  We provide high precision cutting services to a variety of industries using the latest in efficient, accurate waterjet technology from OMAX.


With an X-Y travel of 3m x 1.6m on our Maxiem 1530 machine, we can handle most sheet sizes with ease, and with a repeatability of .05mm, we can guarantee accurate parts, every time!  Our pump runs at 90% efficiency (compared to 65% efficiency using traditional intensifier designs), resulting in lower water and electrical consumption, allowing us to offer more competitive pricing than other waterjet shops.  In addition, we have specialized hardware to allow for piercing of brittle materials such as glass, plastics, composites, as well as strategies to deal with laminated materials, foam, rubber, and gasket materials.


Not only do we utilize modern equipment, we also benefit from the reduced operating costs of being located in beautiful Midland ON, allowing us to pass on the savings of our lower operating costs to our customers in the GTA and beyond!

In order to cut quickly with precision, our software provides fast, accurate cutting for all shapes, allowing us to make accurate cuts without trial-and-error programming.

PUMP TECHNOLOGY

Our direct drive pumps perform up to 40 hp with operating efficiencies up to 85%, and uses substantially less cooling water than inefficient hydraulic intensifier pumps.

NOZZLE TECHNOLOGY

Programmable Motorized Z-Axis coupled with a precision diamond-integrated MAXJET 5i Nozzle means we can cut virtually any material quickly and efficiently.

MOTION CONTROL

We use an advanced computer model to accurately predict the motion and shape of the cutting stream and a motion control system to compensate for undesired jet motion. The result is a fast, accurate part the first time.

ADVANCED PUMP TECHNOLOGY

Our pumps efficiencies between 85% and 90% are typical. This means that 85% or more of the electric power supplied to the drive motor can actually be delivered to the cutting nozzle, compared to the typical 65% or less of an intensifier..

PRECISE NOZZLE ALIGNMENT

We are equipped with an OMAX diamond-integrated MAXJET 5i Nozzle that is efficient, and carefully aligned with the centerline of the mixing tube. All OMAX nozzles are factory-aligned and individually tested to assure efficient cutting and long life.

Waterjet technology has been around for decades. High pressure waterjet technology truly took form in the post-war era, resulting in faster cutting and greater precision, although not very reliable. Now, with the combination of a durable abrasive waterjet nozzle and a reliable high pressure pump, an abrasive waterjet machine could now cut a wide range of materials, including hardened tool steel, titanium, stone and glass.
